The LutheranBnBStory

The Story Began When Aaron and his Wife got Married

Aaron and his wife were starting their life in their first apartment when a friend asked if he could visit them. The apartment was small, the furniture was uncomfortable, there was no air conditioning and trains ran by the place at least once every fifteen minutes. It was truly not an ideal place for guests. But, their guest did not mind. All he was looking for was some good old-fashioned Lutheran fellowship. It was not long before other friends began to ask to come for visits. Aaron and his wife always answered with a resounding “Yes”!

An Idea was Born

Before long, Aaron noticed a trend was developing. The requests for sharing homes were becoming more frequent, and they were coming from everywhere from social media to church and everywhere in between. Aaron and his wife saw the perfect opportunity to connect with the Lutheran world. For the family’s summer vacation in 2016 they took a 1,500-mile road trip across the Midwest. Their first stop was a Lutheran home in Mequon. It was there that the idea was born.

What if Lutherans Could Always be the Hosts?

What if there was a website dedicated to helping Lutherans travel? What if there was a B and B dedicated to hosting Lutherans? So, we created the idea and posted it on a Facebook group. In the space of one hour, they had 100 members. Aaron knew it would expand fast and that they would need a dedicated website. So, he bought LutheranBnB.com for a mere .99 cents. Within the next week, the group practically doubled. Before long, the first visitor, Nate, found out about Aaron’s idea and wanted to help make LutheranBnB a reality.

The Idea Grew into Reality

Neither Aaron nor Nate knew how to run a multinational corporation, but they set out to learn as much as they could. They hired another Lutheran friend, Elizabeth, to help them with their website. Once the website was unveiled, hosts all over the world were ready to share their homes.

The Simple Thought That Grew

Aaron and his wife had a simple thought to create a way to extend fellowship by opening homes to other Lutherans.  With the help of Nate and Elizabeth, they created a worldwide network that continues to grow every day. With your help, it will keep growing so it can connect the 80,000,000 Lutherans all over the world.
